Havaianas Goes Graffiti + Art In The Streets @ MOCA

Coming soon : The Graffiti collection from Havaianas.  The Spring/Summer line will feature flip flops featuring artwork from three young up and coming Brazilian street artists: Finók, Chivitz, Minhau.  The line will feature a pair of flip flops with artwork from each of the artists in addition to one ‘fusion’ pair that combines the stylistic elements of the three.  In typical Havaianas fashion, the collection is stylish and fun, but at the same time something completely new, unique, and fresh.

I had the chance to pick up a pair of these sweet flip flips at the MOCA Contemporaries launch party for the Art In The Streets which was held over this past weekend at Kenny Scharf’s studio in LA.   Havaianas sponsored the event and provided a pair of flip flops from the upcoming line for all attendees.  Here’s the pair I picked up for myself along with a few pictures I snapped of the event/studio :

Those shoes are absolutely adorable!! Living in south Florida, we are always wearing open shoes like that. I just don’t have any as cute looking. I will definitely be breaking down to get some.

oh my gosh how neat! I love the artwork and love the bright colors!! living in the south means I spend almost the entire year in flipflops and after awhile, plain ones are just boring. These would definitely add personality to my wardrobe! I love them! I also love the graffiti in the last picture!

They are very cool looking - love the artwork! Too bad I can’t stand flipflops or I’d get some of these… (maybe they” do some other sandals or something?)
