Just received the Tokidoki Sodashop Palette in the mail courtesy of Sephora. I actually haven’t tried out the makeup yet, but I was so excited about the packaging alone that I couldn’t resist sharing right away!
The Tokidoki Sodashop Palette comes with twelve eyeshadows (both matte and shimmer), a chisel tip eyeliner, character shaped nail file, and sheet of magnets: all packaged neatly in a suuuuper cute collectable tin. In true Tokodoki fashion, the packaging is bright and fun with a good variety of “sodashop” themed characters thrown in the mix. The attention to detail on this palette is just awesome… from the huge collectability factor to the fun magnets to the graphic artist inspired chisel tip on the eyeliner, the whole palette just screams FUN.
It seems that the general consensus is that this palette looks much smaller in stock photos than it does in person and I have to agree. Before receiving this product in the mail, I hadn’t seen it yet in stores and was expecting something palm sized, but at about 8.5″ x 6.5″ the palette is actually quite hefty (more like clutch sized!). At $49 the price is quite reasonable: 13 pieces of makeup so the cost per shadow/eyeliner is roughly $3.75, and that isn’t even including the tin, the magnets and the nail file!
The makeup has great reviews on Sephora.com & I can’t wait to try it out. I’ve been hearing that the shadows are very pigmented, and well worth their price. Fruity Lashes actually has some great swatches of the eyeliner & shadows and some great images of the packaging as well!
